The Me Too Controversy
In 2018, during the Me Too movement in India, writer Mahima Kukreja accused comedian Utsav Chakraborty, who was associated with AIB, of sexual misconduct. Allegations surfaced that Bhat and others were aware but did not act. This led to Bhat stepping away from AIB and being removed as a judge from Comicstaan season 2.
AIB later announced his removal from the CEO role. Around the same time, Bhat opened up about struggling with clinical depression, which attracted mixed reactions from peers in the industry.
